The mansion passed through several owners during its first 100 years, but remained a popular focal point for the local area.

In the chapel, a full-length set of stained-glass windows were completely rebuilt. The new golden windows feature a Scientology cross and Dianetics and Scientology symbols incorporated into the design.

In addition to Sunday Services and traditional ceremonies such as weddings and naming ceremonies (similar to christenings), the chapel is used by Scientology ministers every day for meetings and services.

The Church’s bookstore displays Mr. Hubbard’s prolific writings and recorded lectures on Dianetics and Scientology. In total, the scriptures of Scientology contain more than 40 million words about the mind and spirit – all written by, or recorded from the lectures by, L. Ron Hubbard.

Like many of the rooms, the bookstore and chapel both contain uniquely designed, handcrafted fireplaces which have been meticulously restored.

A lounge was designed on the first floor to provide a meeting place for civic leaders and for committee meetings in connection with the many community activities that Washington Scientologists have participated in for many years.

These projects include literacy programs, anti-drug initiatives and other charitable activities – some of which have been spearheaded by D.C. Scientologists for almost a decade.

Church members take part in a wide range of social interaction projects. Facilities like the chapel and lounge are available to civic representatives and other community organizations for meetings, activities and events.

All Churches of Scientology have an office for the Founder, L. Ron Hubbard. This one is furnished with the actual desk, globe, his personal books and artifacts Mr. Hubbard used while Executive Director of the Founding Church in the 1950s.

On the lower ground floor are these stained-glass windows depicting the state seals of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.. Discovered in the attic of the old Fraser Mansion, these windows have been carefully restored and now adorn a wall of the Founding Church’s Purification Center lounge.

Live tours of the org are available Monday through Friday 9am to 10pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm.
